It is with great sadness that we are letting you know that Growing Forward is closing due to a lack of sustainable funding.
We have supported people to improve their mental and physical well-being through gardening in small groups and one-to-one counselling. To bring this great project to a close, we are hosting one day of restorative workshops and one day for a closing gathering, all at Windmill Community Gardens. These events have been funded by the excellent fundraising efforts of Jeremy Lloyd’s LEJOG bike ride and Jeannie Thompson’s cake sale. Many thanks indeed! Come and join the celebration. Details below.
The garden has toilets, warm indoor spaces and is wheelchair accessible. You can drive your car or taxi to the garden gate if needed. We can meet you at the yellow bollard at the end of Ascot Road if helpful. Please dress for the weather. Light refreshments will be provided and donations are welcome but not expected. If you have questions, we are happy to try to make it easier for you to attend. Also you are welcome to bring along an object, picture, or some words to express what the project has meant to you and how the spirit of Growing Forward goes with you.
Any questions about the work shops or celebration can be emailed to hello@growingforward.org.uk or texting Harry on 07495 797248 or Carley on 07832 211323. We will forward workshop questions to Mita and Caroline. See you in the garden!
