About Growing Forward

Growing Forward supports people in Nottingham to improve their mental and physical wellbeing through gardening activities in small groups and one-to-one sessions.

Our time in the garden aims to help with anxiety, depression and loneliness. It is designed for people who feel overwhelmed by large groups and find it hard to meet new people.

In the Growing Forward group sessions we grow food and flowers, enjoy nature, learn, share and relax. The one to one sessions include counselling or talking therapy.

The aim of Growing Forward is to help you feel less lonely and more able to cope, make friends and discover other groups you can join in your area. You can also increase volunteering and employment potential, build confidence and develop skills.

We offer assistance with travel plans and expenses and provide you with your own gardening gloves.

They are supervised and managed in line with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and are Mental Health First Aiders. They will also be trained in physical first aid and DBS checked.
